Electrical Panel Relocation and Surge Protection Install in Wilmington

We just wrapped up a panel job in Wilmington that required a little more than a straight swap. The original panel didn't have the required clearance space mandated by the National Electrical Code - which meant we couldn't just drop a new one in the same spot. It had to move.

NEC clearance requirements exist for a reason. Panels need a minimum amount of clear working space in front of them so that electricians - and first responders - can safely access and operate the equipment. When that space isn't there, the panel is out of code, plain and simple. Ignoring it isn't an option we're willing to take.

So we relocated the panel to a compliant position and got the new install done right. Along with the new panel, we added a whole-panel surge protection device. That surge protector sits between your utility feed and every circuit in the home, catching voltage spikes before they ever reach your appliances, your HVAC system, or anything else plugged in.

A lot of homeowners don't think about surge protection until after something gets fried. A single lightning strike or grid fluctuation can wipe out thousands of dollars worth of electronics and appliances in a split second. Having protection built right into the panel is one of the smartest additions you can make when you're already doing panel work.

If your panel is older, cramped, or hasn't been looked at in years, it's worth having someone take a look. Code requirements have evolved, and what was acceptable a decade ago may not meet today's standards - or keep your home as safe as it should be.
